Painting With Light @ Oakland Cemetery

I took a break from senior portraits and learned a real cool technique called "Painting With Light" which uses HDR editing to merge multiple images into one. You leave the shutter open for several minutes (on a tripod) and then use a flashlight to light up the scene in front of the camera. Since you don't know exactly what your light covers, you end up with a few images to compress so that the entire structure is lit up. Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery is awesome anytime, but especially on a night workshop with Judith Pishnery. Here's a couple of images from the session. You'll see my shadow in one!
